Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard

Our Mission Statement, is Saving Lives at Sea, and it is something we take very seriously. We are one of the main resources that can be called upon by the Police, or Rescue Co-ordination Centre of New Zealand, to go to the aid of a stricken vessel. Our Radio Operators process over 30,000 trip reports every year, and on average, our crews bring 11 people safely back to shore every week. Our 64 volunteers help ensure everyone using the Tauranga Moana area is always safe at sea.
